The Browning Automatic Rifle first saw use in World War I. At the time, it's twenty round magazine and automatic fire capability bridged the gap between the rifle and machinegun.

Game Tips: The BAR’s heavy recoil and low magazine capacity will make long range automatic fire useless. Fire in 2-3 shot bursts for the best effectiveness. It's primary useage is in support - bipod down, firing at medium to long range.
MG Useage: Machineguns are nearly useless when not deployed. Go ‘prone’ and hit ‘secondary fire’ to deploy your bipod. (Or, find an ‘MG nest’ to deploy the bipod while standing.)
